I admit, I’m a t-shirt geek. I love t-shirts with silly, but clever, slogans that can usually withstand the test of time. When tees can successfully marry video game or series characters, double entendres and great design, it’s usually enough for me to hit the purchase button in a heartbeat. I decided to pull some of my favorite tees and share the goods.
This is usually the first place I go for high quality designs. They are more expensive than other shops as regularly priced shirts start at $20 (hoodies are $40). However, they tend to have at least one sale campaign a month and release a few coupon codes (especially for new customers). Tees come in men (S – XXXL), women (S – XL), and kid sizes (toddler-2 – juvenile-7). BustesTees also has a “Fun Stuff” area where they sell things like miniature red cup shot glasses and donut pool floats:
6 Dollar Shirts
The sheer amount of designs (over 300) make this site a contender in this arena. While some of the t-shirts are holdovers from old, established memes the pièce de résistance is within the site’s namesake–the price of every single tee starts at $6. Even better, the site features a bulk “10 tees for $50” everyday special; which is an absolutely great deal if you’re looking to buy gifts or fill up your closet. I also found a “mystery shirt” option where the site will send you a random shirt, starting at $2.95 (does not include shipping). The only misgivings I have about the offerings is that many shirts feature ‘the retro look’ to make the prints appear purposely vintage. However, I recognize that its more of a personal style choice so to each its own. Tees come in Guy (S – XXXL) and Girl (S – XL) sizes. For men the 2X and 3X sizes comes with an additional $2-$3 upcharge, while all women’s sizes require an additional $0.50. Still, there are also coupon codes floating around and in the grand scheme of things this site may end up saving you some money:
Yet another good repository of slogan tees, Snorg Tees has a great deal of designs, though centering more into geek territory. Most of the tees feature science, math, comics, and a range of pop-culture crossover jokes. There’s even a category dedicated solely to bacon. Just like other places there are coupon codes online and visiting their Facebook page gives info on further discounts. While the inspirations behind many of the designs aren’t exactly new, the look and layouts are colorful and are high quality. On a personal note, out of the three offerings I found these tees to be a little less funny (again, my problem not yours…). Shirt prices are more on the level with the ranges offered by Busted Tees (Snorg shirts start at $19.95) while the sizing followed the 6 Dollar Tees pattern; Guy shirts ranging from S-XXXL sizes (2XL and 3XL have $1 and $2 upcharges, respectively) and girls shirts offered from S – XL (no upcharges). They also offer the more popular designs as iPhone cases for the 4, 4s and 5 models, which is a nice touch:
